Have you been carrying stress or tension and feeling disconnected from your body? Romiromi is a traditional Māori form of bodywork that creates space for release, rest and reconnection. Each treatment is approached with care and adapted to the individual.

At te pātoa, Romiromi is offered as a deeply focused form of traditional Māori bodywork. A session may include firm pressure, movement and focused work around areas of tension with every treatment adapted to the person receiving it.

People ofen come to Romiromi when they feel physically tense, emotionally weighed down or disconnected from themselves. The treatment creates space to slow down, breathe and reconnect with the body.

Romiromi is more than a physical treatment. It recognises the connection between tinana, hinengaro, wairua and mauri—the body, mind, spirit and life force. Each session is approached with care, respect and an awareness of the whole person.

Your experience will be individual. Some people leave feeling deeply rested, while others notice a greater sense of openness, clarity or connection. There is no pressure to experience Romiromi in a particular way.

At te pātoa, treatments are grounded in tikanga and offered within a safe, supportive and mana-enhancing space.
